COVID-19 Latest Update

Wednesday 5th January, 2022

The COVID situation in Sydney is rapidly changing on a daily basis, and as a result it is impacting the availability of staff over our three (3) venues. To enable us to get through this trying time, a difficult decision has been made to close Wests Sports Croydon from the end of trade tonight until further notice.

Thursday 23rd December, 2021

Today the NSW government announced the re-introduction of the following restrictions;

From 12.01am Friday, 24 December  2021

  • Masks will be compulsory in all indoor non-residential settings, including for hospitality staff and in offices, unless eating or drinking.

From 12.01am Monday, 27 December 2021

  • Hospitality venues, including pubs, clubs, restaurants and cafes will move to 1 person per 2 sqm rule indoors, with no density limit for outdoor settings
  • QR code check-ins will be compulsory, including for hospitality and retail – This has already been implemented in our venues.

These restrictions will remain in place until Thursday, 27 January 2022.

CLUB STATEMENT – 3 December 2021

The NSW government is expected to extend freedoms to unvaccinated people as of 15th December 2021, allowing them to enter our premises without restrictions.

While we may or may not all agree with this Policy, WAL are committed to protecting our staff and community as much as possible particularly during such an important time of the year.  With this is mind the Board and Management have agreed to extend our no entry Policy to those who are not fully (double) vaccinated until at least the New Year. We trust that this gives our community the confidence to enjoy our offerings well into 2022.

This Policy extends to all staff, members and guests and will be reviewed again in January and we will let you know of further updates as they come to hand.
