Chief Executive Officer’s Message

Simon Cook Warm BG 2016-007 FINAL

Welcome to spring in Wests World.

Firstly, I wish to convey my gratitude to you, our loyal members, your family and friends for the wonderful support you have provided through your patronage of our beautifully re-appointed food and beverage outlets. The feedback received both verbally and through social media has been overwhelmingly positive, to the extent that popular Channel 7 show Sydney Weekender, contacted the Club to arrange filming an episode in our restaurants and see for themselves what the fuss is about. The show went to air on Sunday, 6 August – I hope you were able to catch it and be as proud as we are in witnessing Wests Ashfield on national television.

On Wednesday, July 19 in celebration of ‘Do Something Day,’ a group of management and staff volunteered at the Exodus Foundation to cook & serve lunch to the disadvantaged and homeless community of our area. Rev Bill Crews and the team at the Exodus do a phenomenal job serving 1000 free meals daily, covering breakfast, lunch and dinner to the less fortunate in our community.

Bingo has played an integral role in club life over the years, offering entertainment, companionship and (sometimes) reward. But rarely do we see one of our regular players rewarded on a grand scale. We’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate our lucky bingo player Giuseppe, who won the State wide BSG Rewards second chance draw. On Friday, 21 July Giuseppe was presented with a $5,000 Cruise Express gift card by BSG Australia General Manager, Steve Hardman.

In closing, can I request that you please note in your diary that Club loyalty points will expire on Wednesday, 1 November. There are several methods by which you can redeem your points, including the purchase of food & beverage or trade for gift cards. If you are unsure of what to do, please ask one of our friendly staff members.
